A SWMS (Safe Work Method Statement) is a document that sets out the high risk construction work activities to be carried out at a workplace, the hazards arising from these activities and the measures to be put in place to control the risks. SWMS are designed to help you and your team to manage high-risk construction work and must be prepared before this work starts and in consultation with your workers. SWMS are a legal requirement for all high risk construction work including but not limited to working at height, on or near mobile plant, with electricity or gas, disturbing asbestos, with artificial extremes of temperature, near water, on or near roads, in or near confined space and more.

When you sign up for a HazardCo membership you will automatically be given access to a set of SWMS templates that our team of health and safety expert advisors have created. The templates contain standard work task steps for a large number of High Risk Construction Work activities, including but not limited to working at heights, plumbing, drainage and trenching.
